Passing they were,
a ferry and this sailing ship
each vessel sure of course
undeterred by proximity
Moving in opposite directions
with equal intent
Afloat on the same water,
in the same moment,
in the same fine light
And yet,
I suspect the sailors
were having more fun
were having more fun
Don't you?

I'm loving the synchronicities of life and how I'm experiencing them among this fine community of blogging friends. Been thinking about open boats, and planning a blog around it...
Hugs,
Teresa
Another beautiful photo. Certain sailors were probably having more fun, but those of us who didn't enjoy heeling (Jenny used to call it hurling, because that is what you felt like doing at the time when the sailboat was sideways) weren't having that much fun!
Teresa,
It is a fine community, I couldn't agree more.
One of the things that warms me most, about the change of seasons, is the slowed pace of fall through winter. The annual allowance for introspection and lessened "must take action" demands. Plants rest, we rest and muse. Mental sailing. I often wonder, with so many making the seasonal sail at once, does the level of synchronicity rise in like measure? It feels that way to me some years.
Looking forward to your "open boats" my friend. When the time is right.
Hugs,
Chris
BG,
Thanks for starting my Sunday off with a good laugh!
I have no doubt, those of us who have never actually "sailed" romanticize it. Warm fair winds, light sounds of sails flapping and on... Hurling (heeling), in its various forms :), doesn't enter my mind when I see those open sailed beauties in action.
Not so with my better half. He pictures hurling (not heeling) first and makes it clear that distance is what he chooses to keep, between himself and those romantic bobbing beauties.
Thanks again for the chuckles.
Hugs,
Chris
