Backwater

"All along the backwater,
Through the rushes tall,
Ducks area a-dabbling,
Up tails all!

Ducks' tails, drakes' tails,
Yellow feet a-quiver,
Yellow bills all out of sight
Busy in the river!"

Kenneth Grahame, 1859-1932
Of "Wind in the Willows" fame.

Actually, all ducks were out of sight. The location simply reminded me of the poem. Taken many, many moons ago on Whidbey Island, WA. Dabbled with to taste.

"Dabbled with to taste." Love that. And the photo is very nicely dabbled with. Hope you have a great weekend, Chris.

Thanks Teresa,
It has been a good weekend so far. The morning was spent celebrating the Salmon Homecoming on Muck Creek in the small town of Roy, WA. Tomorrow morning I will be heading to Gig Harbor to greet the sunrise and catch photos of the years highest tide, along with other folks around the Puget Sound. We are gathering baseline photos of the tide for future comparisons. Taking in the fresh air and I'm guessing you are as well. Hugs,
Chris

Thanks BG,
I know, if I were a duck, I would be making it my home base. Really fun waterbody. There was a brisk wind that day and likely not the best for taking flights or making any graceful landings. A bit of a ducks down day.
Hugs,
Chris
