Thankfully
when leaves begin their annual fall
they don't fall all at once.
They leave us a few branch clinging holdouts
for twilight.

Those leaves. Some do fall almost all at once. Others offer that cool transparent time when they thin out bit by bit and let the light filter through in interesting ways. Mother nature really knows how to make things dance.
